KSR Change name to KFG-LEVEL
Carel Components, the sensors specialists are changing the UK brand name for their liquid level switches and sensors made by the Swiss “KFG-Level Group”, with whom Carel Components have long been associated.

The KFG-Level Group includes the Heinrich Kubler AG factory in Switzerland, established in 1976, and have traditionally marketed their level sensing products under the “KSR–Kubler” brand name. In recent years, the Group have undertaken a very substantial programme of product development and investment in their production capabilities and are now recognised as independent, prime manufacturers and suppliers to the oil, chemicals, food and beverages and other process industries across the world including the North Sea, United States, Australia and Europe including Eastern Europe.

The level sensors and switches are primarily based on reed switch / magnetic float technology and range from small machinery control switches to large and mini-bypass units for storage tanks.

NEW Hermet “Compact 5” temperature indicators
Carel Components, the temperature control specialists, have launched new and much smaller designs of temperature recording labels to their long established Hermet range. Designated the “Compact 5” series, these very visible yellow labels record maximum temperature readings for process temperature checks, installation monitoring and R&D applications.

The new “Compact 5” Hemet temperature indicators measure just 10 x 24mm and include five temperature sensitive pads, grouped in three windows – two in each of the outer windows and a larger one in the centre. Each pad turns permanently black within +/- 1% or 1oC of its shown rating. The standard ranges cover 43 – 138oC in 4 temperature selections and are available in packs of 20.

NEW Hermet “Daisy 5” Temperature indicators
Carel Components, the temperature control specialists, have add another new and yet more compact design to their Hermet range of temperature indicators. Designated the “Daisy-5” series, these tiny label style devices are designed to record maximum temperature readings, where space is very limited such as in electrical or electronic devices.

The new Hermet “Daisy-5” series temperature indicators comprise five individual temperature sensitive pads, grouped in an 8mm circle in a sealed plastic label. The centre-point temperature is clearly identified, while the outer print panels can be trimmed off if necessary. Each silver-grey pad turns permanently black in sequence within +/- 1% or 1oC of its shown rating. There are 4 stock temperature selections covering 40 – 132oC, supplied 20 per pack.

NEW PanaVise 845-246W CCTV mounting kit
Carel Components, the control components specialists, have added a very versatile CCTV mounting kit to their wide range of PanaVise mounting products. Designated the 845-246W, the kit can carry most smaller cameras fitted to a ceiling, wall or shelf. The mounting length is selectable at 50, 100 or 150mm (2, 4 or 6”) from the parts provided and should help installers to save time and cope with a wide variety of circumstances

The new PanaVise 845-246W micro mounting kit provides installers with easy options. The pan and tilt head with standard camera mount thread and locking ring, can be installed with a lock-up set screw or with adjustment knob. The rise of the mount is 50mm, extendable to 100 or 150mm with threaded spacers provided. The four hole base plate is 50mm across and comes with a soft moulded plastic cover. All the parts are standard cream coloured – black is optional, and all the exposed threads are provided with protective covers. A very smart and well produced accessory for the security installer.

New Minco explosion-proof RTD probe accessory
Carel Components, the instrumentation components specialists, have added an explosion-proof probe holder to their stock range of Minco temperature controls.

The FG118, like the widely used FG110, enables probes to be installed without special tools and provides a fluid seal. Just pull out the knurled release knob, insert the probe until it is firmly in contact with the surface to be measured – perhaps a journal bearing, and release the knob. It will be perfectly spring loaded. With the 12.7mm extension on the nose of the FG118, this rugged industrial accessory is now approved for use in explosion-proof assemblies.

Note: The Minco stainless steel RTD probe shown in the attached photograph is tip sensitive, with the sensing element encased in copper.

Twisted wire pair flex circuits
Minco distributors, Carel Components, have added a new ‘Twisty-FlexÔ’ to their range of specialist components.
Twisty-FlexÔ circuits from Minco provide the noise reduction of twisted wire pairs or coax cable in a flexible circuit. The two layer design uses alternating conductors connected between layers by micro-vias. The result is a true twisted pair construction with a total thickness of less than 0.015” (0.38mm). A wire pair can fit into a circuit less than 0.1” (2.5mm) wide, or integrate Twisty-Flex conductors with other signal or power conductors in a large flex or rigid flex design.
Twisty-Flex is ideal for integrating high-frequency impedance matched conductors with DC or other signals in a single flex design. Use one or two Twisty-Flex pairs in a double or multi-layer flex circuit to speed up and error-proof assembly, while meeting the tightest space requirements.
Design ideas include; Signal carriers between antenna and main circuit board; board to board jumpers; partially over molded with rubber or epoxy to provide weatherproof signal entrance to an enclosure; or combined signal and power carrying circuit for reduced component count and faster assembly.

Integrated Heater / Sensors
Carel Components, the instrumentation specialists, are launching etched foil heating elements fitted with integral RTD’s or thermistors, from Minco Products, USA.

These Integrated heater/sensors are the solution for many temperature control problems. Combining an etched foil heating element with an accurate platinum RTD or thermistor sensor measuring just 2x1mm, in a single package that provides a reliable system having a reduced parts count and simplified installation.

Overall sizes available from 25x50mm up to 127mm square, having nominal resistance values from 5 to 73 ohms. With operational temperatures from sub-zero to more than 100°C. these standard models can be used for prototype testing or short-run production. For larger volume OEM applications custom designs can include wire or flex circuit leads, heater size and resistance to exact requirements.
